This past 01/17/20, for the first time, we were able to give something back as a foundation,  Cali’s Heart Foundation was able to give some donations to the Texas Children Hospital families in Houston, TX, Our home away from home.

A lot of memories came back when we first arrive to Houston, and even more when we got to the parking lot of the Hospital, we still remember the felling of getting to the hospital parking lot, look up to the huge building right at the 16^th floor where we had our suit and our princess baby waiting for us there. Crossing the street and looking at the light post with all those stickers from all the families/visitors, every day they would give you a sticker with the date of the visit and everyone would put them in the light post at the end of the day, (not proud of this by the way..) but there were times where there was no more room for one more sticker, for us, it was a reminder that we were not alone, and just as all of them, we needed to continue no matter how much time it would take.

Then the long hallways, the elevators, our mansion as we call it back then,  and last but not least,  we got to see our second family! They were a big part of our story, and we are glad that we got to meet such wonderful people on our time there, we could not see them all, but we will next time! The beautiful medical staff of Texas Children Hospital. 

Finally, It was an honor to be able to go back and live again some of those moments, even when they were difficult, we would do it all over again,  just to see that happy face, that laugh that gave us the strength to continue every day and that made us who we are today.  

We know the struggle and that is why Cali’s Heart Foundation will continue to grow to help as many families possible, continue their journey with their love ones at their side.
